Romeo and Juliet
|
For my final Nueva production, Romeo and Juliet, I played Mercutio. I loved developing a personality (and hair style!) for this iconic character.
I have never played a character like Mercutio. He is crazy, funny, and wild "scurvy knave." I had no idea how to attack this role, so I started with research. I translated all my scenes into modern language so I would know what the hell I was talking about and read what the rest of the world thinks about Mercutio. (Fun Fact: It is rumored that Shakespeare himself said he had to kill Mercutio because he was too funny and would have stolen the show.) |
The Light In The Library
The Light in the Library was a hilariously fun, larger than life play about storybook characters coming to life in the dead of night. I played the book smart protagonist, Paige.
I loved getting to play this role because it truly was an adventure every time. My favorite memory of this run was our kids show. They LOVED it and couldn't help but try and talk to the performers on stage, especially to warn us when a "ghost" was approaching. |

ERROR 147
|
ERROR 147 was an original show created by Nueva School of the Creative and Performing arts. I composed and performed most of the music for this 60 minute dystopian dance piece. I played live violin during the show and got to move with the dancers. To this day ERROR 147 is one of my favorite performance experiences and I am so glad that I was able to be a part of this masterpiece.
