ABOUT MEPerforming Artist My name is Sammie Moore and I am currently studying theatre arts at Santa Rosa Junior College. My biggest passion is performing on stage whether acting, singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument.. I absolutely adore children and feel extremely fortunate that I get to teach them art, music, and dance at Art and Soul Music School.
In preschool, I started acting in skits during summer camps. In grade school I continued to act in every school show possible. I started to get my first real training in middle school (2011) with Htown Youth Theatre (now called Young Actor's Studio) where I performed in a multitude of shows. During my time at Windsor High School I joined the Jaguar Troupe led by Julie Raven (3 Shows), Nueva Academy for the Arts lead by various directors (4 shows), and Roustabout Apprentice Theater led by Clark H. Lewis. Most recently, I was part of SRJC's production of Shrek and I am currently getting ready to work backstage as a makeup artist for their Spring performance of Jesus Christ Superstar. |

When I was 11, I began playing violin at Windsor Middle School (2011) which led me to become the Concert Master of the Windsor High School Orchestra for three consecutive years and play in every level of Santa Rosa's Youth Ensembles(2013). Last year, I was fortunate enough to travel through Europe with the Youth Orchestra. My sophomore year of high school I embraced the role of choreographer for Windsor's first ever drum line (2015/16).
Aside from the arts, I have an interest in the environment and different cultures around the world. I have gone on 2 Global Student Embassy Spring Break trips. The first was to Nicaragua in 2016 where we primarily worked on creating gardens at schools so the students would have food to eat. The Spring Break of 2017, I went to Ecuador to plant trees and help the community in Bahia De Caraquez for my Junior project. Check out my Junior Internship tab for more info!
